Teenager jailed 3 months for stealing Plasma TV

An Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, on Wednesday sentenced one Abu Adamu, 18, of Mararaba to three months imprisonment for stealing a plasma television.
Adamu, who was charged with criminal conspiracy, burglary and theft, pleaded guilty to the charges.
The Presiding Judge, Mr Abdullahi Ibrahim, sentenced the convict to one month in imprisonment for each offence, and said that the sentence should run concurrently.
The court, however, gave the convict an option of N3,000 fine on each offence.
Police prosecutor, Abdul Abu, had earlier told the court that a police patrol team arrested the convict with a LG plasma Television on July 29.
The prosecutor said that during investigation, the convict confessed to have broken into the house of one Justice Haruna Offo at New Karu, with one of his friends, now at large, to steal the item.
