The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has
described the Vice President, Arc Mohammad Namadi Sambo, who marked his
58th birthday on Thursday as a true party man and a worthy acolyte in
the transformation programme of President Goodluck Jonathan. A statement by the national publicity secretary of the PDP, Chief
Olisa Metuh said that the Vice President has distinguished himself in
his support of efforts by President Jonathan to implement the manifesto
of the PDP.
"As our great party joins other Nigerians in rejoicing with you on this occasion, we wish to commend as well as put on record, the firm and reassuring steps that the federal government has so far taken in steering the ship of state in the right course. "We pray god almighty to further bless you with good health so that you will continue to assist the president in bringing to fruition, the task of national transformation which he has started in earnest," Metuh's statement read.

Meanwhile, Vice President Namadi Sambo has faulted advertorials
sponsored in the media pegging his age at 60. He insisted that he was
born on august 2, 1954 and just attained the age of 58 on Thursday.
A statement by Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Alhaji Umar Sani, implored the affected media organisations "to correct the discrepancy and report accurately, his exact date of birth and age for the benefit of nigerians, and added that "this is meant to set the record straight".
The statement made available to newsmen reads in path: "our attention was drawn to some advertorials sponsored in some national media by well meaning Nigerians and some respected organisations and bodies, showering encommiums on the person and office Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, placing his birth age at 60.
