Position: FINANCE MANAGER
Location: AbujaHave the overall responsibility to establish and maintain financial and management procedure, and systems for the Global Fund Project.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to Financial Law’s and to ensure adequate resource acquisition for the sustainability of CiSHAN. Finance Manager
Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain day-to-day financial control of the service within budget heads agreed by the trustee board.
  • Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored including credit control
  • Advise on the proper allocation of resources by formulating strategies to be used in the long-term financial plans for a business entity.
  • Managing the accounting and monitoring Systems for the organization’s finances
  • Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times.
  • Prepare and review detailed budgets for approval by the project management.
  • Make regular reports to the management on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting obligations: are met in relation to submissions tor funding, for grant aid, for contracts and any other initiatives
Qualification & Skills
  • MA in Finance, Accounting Or equivalent experience
  • Experience financial or cost management experience
  • Five years plus senior level experience in development program operations.
  • In depth knowledge and cognate experience in managing Global Fund and other international donor agencies projects at senior management level.
  • Comfortable with a team approach to management and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and/or word processing: required Packages include: QuickBooks, Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel and Word plus university-specific accounting & reporting packages.
  • Excellent general management skills particularly in facilitation, team building and coordination.
  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate organization’s direction and ability to motivate others with strong, honest leadership.
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements, budgets and forecast
  • Firm foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Sub-contract and sub-agreement financial management experience
  • Experience with international, non-profit organizations (larger than $1OM.), as well as a multi-office, Multi-national environment.
  • Understanding of the difference between contracts and cooperative agreements and their relevant terms and conditions
  • Experience with the Global Fund will be an added advantage.
