Oyo State Pastor runs mad while praying for mad man

People living at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State, as well as shop owners and automobile dealers along Molete road in the town, on Thursday, watched a drama involving a pastor and a mad man. The pastor, whose name is Timothy, according to an eyewitness, got to Ososami junctions of Oke-Ado around 5.20 p.m and went to meet the mentally-deranged man, popularly known as Tunde, who was sitting in front of a building in the area. According to Semiu, a shop owner around the spot of the incident, the pastor began to read the Bible on sighting the mad man, while he moved closer to him and laid the hand on his head. “At a point, there was a hot argument between the duo, which made the pastor to raise his voice as he was offering a deliverance prayer for Tunde, the mad man. The hot prayer lasted for over 15 minutes before another strange drama began,” Semiu told the Nigerian Tribune. West Bromwich Albion have sealed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Ben Foster from Birmingham City. The 29-year-old, who spent last season on loan at the Baggies, has signed a three-year deal with an option for the club to extend it for a further two years. Villas-Boas to be named new Tottenham manager on Monday

Andre Villas-Boas is set to be appointed the new Tottenham manager on Monday the Portuguese has accepted Spurs' job offer and the final paperwork on a three-year contract will be completed over the weekend. Barring any last-minute hitches, Tottenham are hoping to name Villas-Boas as Harry Redknapp's successor after Sunday's Euro 2012 final between Italy and Spain. The former Chelsea manager agreed to take over at White Hart Lane earlier this week, but official confirmation has been delayed until after July 1 due to contractual and legal reasons. Manchester United end interest in Modric as Tottenham star edges towards Real Madrid

Manchester United have conceded defeat in their efforts to sign Luka Modric as the Tottenham midfielder edges closer to a move to Real Madrid.   Sir Alex Ferguson made the Croatian playmaker a top target for the summer transfer window but the United manager has been stunned by Tottenham’s £40 million asking price. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is likely to accept a £35m bid but United feel the transfer would not make economic sense, even though Modric’s wage demands would be well within the Old Trafford club’s budget. United have signed attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund and Ferguson does not feel pressure to enter the transfer market, particularly as Paul Scholes has extended his contract to play next term. English Premier League side Arsenal will play Nigeria’s Super Eagles in a pre-season match in Abuja on August 5. It will be the first time ‘The Gunners’ have played in the West African country. Nigeria ranked 60th in the latest FIFA rankings face Arsenal, who finished third in the English top flight last season.
